Residential Moving

 

Professional Help Without the Luxury Price Tag

Hassle Free Hauling provides reliable residential moving services throughout Anchorage and Southcentral Alaska. Whether you're moving from an apartment, townhouse, or family home, our goal is to make the process smooth, efficient, and affordable.


We focus on practical, hardworking service built for real Alaskans, not luxury pricing or unnecessary add-ons. We take pride in being approachable, professional, and easy to work with.


Standard Moving Rate

Our residential moving services are billed at:

  • $150 per hour
  • Two-hour minimum
     

We believe in full transparency and clear billing, with no hidden fees or vague pricing structures.


Furniture Disassembly and Reassembly Included

Many moves involve large bedframes, tables, or furniture that needs to be taken apart and rebuilt. Furniture disassembly and reassembly is included in our hourly moving rate, so you do not need to handle it yourself ahead of time.


Commercial Moving

 

Offices, Businesses, and Professional Relocation

We also provide commercial moving services for small businesses, offices, and professional spaces. Whether you're relocating equipment, transferring inventory, or moving into a new workspace, our team brings the same care and organization to commercial jobs as we do to residential moves.


Commercial moving is billed at the same transparent rate:

  • $150 per hour
  • Two-hour minimum


Storage Unit Moves, Transfers and Cleanouts

 

To, From and Between Units

Storage moves are extremely common in Alaska, and we handle them regularly. We provide moving services to and from storage units, including:

  • Moving items into storage during a transition
  • Moving out of storage into a new home
  • Switching units or facilities
  • Storage unit close-outs and cleanups
     

While we do not operate our own storage facility yet, we are fully equipped to help customers move efficiently into or out of any local storage unit.


Labor-Only Moving Help

 

Loading & Unloading Help – U-Hauls, Pods, and Containers

 

Not every move requires a full-service truck. Many customers simply need experienced labor to load or unload a rental truck, trailer, or shipping container.

We offer hourly moving help for:

  • U-Haul loading and unloading
  • PODS, U-Boxes, and U-Pack type containers
  • In-home furniture rearranging
  • Heavy item placement and positioning
     

Our labor-only moving services are also billed at:

  • $150 per hour
  • Two-hour minimum
     

Out-of-State Moves: Container Loading Option

While we do not provide out-of-state transportation moves, we can load shipping containers that will be transported elsewhere. For many customers, this is a far more affordable alternative to full-service interstate moving.


Small Items and Packing Expectations

 

Please Have Small Items Boxed or Bagged Before Arrival

To keep your move efficient and affordable, we ask that all small personal items be boxed or bagged prior to our arrival. This helps save valuable time on moving day and ensures you are paying for productive labor, not packing loose household items.


In short: prepping small items ahead of time saves us time, and saves you money.


No Packing Services Offered

We do not offer full packing services, as packing is time-intensive and carries unnecessary liability. Our focus is on safe, efficient moving and transport.


However, if professional packing support is needed, we can gladly refer you to one of our trusted local partners.


Oversized and Specialty Items

 

Moving With Care – Protection Is Standard

We take pride in protecting your belongings properly. Our crews use moving blankets, straps, dollies, and proven loading methods to keep items secure during transport.


We also have experience moving delicate and high-value items, including taxidermy, with the attention and respect those pieces require.

 

Upright Pianos, Gun Safes, and Vending Machines

Some moves involve items that require extra labor, equipment, and planning. We are able to move certain oversized items on a case-by-case basis, including:

  • Upright pianos (not grand pianos)
  • Gun safes
  • Vending machines
     

Because these items involve significantly more risk and effort than standard furniture, they are subject to an oversize item charge.


Oversize Item Pricing

Oversized items are billed at our standard moving rate:

  • $150 per hour
  • Two-hour minimum

Plus:

  • $250 oversize item charge per item, per floor of stairs navigated

Example:
If an upright piano is moved from a 2nd-floor pickup location to a separate 3rd-floor delivery location (no elevators), the oversize charge would apply across five floors total.


All oversize charges are always discussed, negotiated on a case by case basis and approved in advance.


Transparent Hourly Pricing (Integrity Matters)

 

Billable Time Starts On Arrival – Not When We Leave the Shop

One major way we set ourselves apart is how we bill our time.

Our moving clock begins when we arrive at your pickup location and greet you, and it stops when the job is complete.


We do not charge customers for time spent driving to the initial pickup location or back to a shop after the move is finished. This is part of our commitment to honest, verifiable billing and doing business with integrity.


What We Cannot Move

 

Safety and Compliance Limitations

For safety, insurance, and regulatory reasons, we are not able to transport:

  • Oxygen tanks
  • Propane tanks
  • Acetylene tanks
  • Any compressed gas or flammable substances requiring placards
     

Additionally, we do not relocate hot tubs or vehicles from one property to another. Hot tubs are disposal-only due to the high likelihood of damage and potential development of leaks during transport.


Scheduling and Walkthroughs

 

Book Online or Call Anytime

Customers are welcome to book either online or over the phone. Walkthrough consultations are always free and available upon request, especially for larger moves or specialty items.


Walkthroughs are required for full property cleanouts, but for moving jobs, they are optional and based entirely on the customer’s comfort and needs.
